Maxim Group LLC Announces Three Senior Appointments to Further Expand Institutional Sales and Trading Group
Additionally Phil Buchanan and Bill Vitale Promoted
Maxim Group LLC, a leading full-service mid-tier investment banking, securities and wealth management firm today announced the appointment of three senior staff to further expand its institutional sales and trading group. Maxim Group appointed Erik S. Brous, 42, and Kenneth Epstein, 47, as senior vice presidents, institutional sales and Michelle J. Gannello, 30, as vice president, institutional sales.
In addition, Maxim senior vice president Phil Buchanan was promoted to senior vice president and manager, sales trading while Bill Vitale, also a Maxim senior vice president, was promoted to managing director and manager, equity trading.
"Both Phil and Bill have demonstrated exceptional leadership and a strong work ethic in driving the growth of our sales and trading group. Their promotions are very well deserved given their tremendous accomplishments", said Jeff Sklar, managing director and head of institutional sales and trading at Maxim Group.

Prior to joining Maxim Group, Mr. Brous was a managing director at Axiom Capital since 2004, a senior managing director at Bear Stearns from 2001 to 2004,a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers from 1997 to 2001 and a senior vice president at Paine Webber from 1994 to 1997. He began his career in institutional sales with Smith Barney from 1988 to 1994. Mr. Brous was awarded a bachelors degree in finance from the University of Maryland in1988.
Previous to Maxim Group, Mr. Epstein was a vice president in institutional equities with Janney Montgomery Scott from 2006 to 2008 and a vice president of institutional equity sales at Oppenheimer & Co. from 1993 to 2006. Prior to 1993 he worked in commercial real estate in New York. Mr. Epstein was awarded an MBA in 1992 from Baruch College and graduated from Brandeis University with a BA in 1983.
Before joining Maxim Group, Michelle J. Gannello was a client relationship manager from 2006 to 2008 with Vista Research and an institutional equity sales assistant with Sanford C. Bernstein from 2005 to 2006. Her corporate background includes experience as a production manager with Preston Bailey. Ms. Gannello attended Rutgers University and was awarded a BA, summa cum laude, from FIT in 2002.
